I'm posting this in case it's useful to anyone else.

I have a client trying to transfer a .org domain from Network Solutions
to me. NSI is now an EPP registrar for .org, so an auth code is needed.

Since the malicious bastards at NSI still don't provide the auth code in
the control panel as they should, I called to find out what a person is
currently supposed to do to get it.

After a half hour on hold, I was told the following:

1. The only way for a person to get an auth code is to call NSI,
presumably involving a half hour wait on the phone.

2. When you call them, they will send the code only to the owner contact.
They will not send it to the admin contact.

The latter restriction is a particularly nice new touch in their long
tradition of screwing people. It means that in order to transfer an EPP
domain from Network Solutions, both the owner AND the admin contact must
be valid, because they first only send the auth code to the owner, and
then they follow that up with their usual message to the admin contact
asking for it to be approved again.

(I am so sick of this crap.)
