This is a good thing for netsol from a technical perspactive. The
instability from the commercialization of domain names back when NSI had
the contract has only served to destabilize the .com and to some extent
.net zone files.

As domains are purchased, transferred or cancelled for whatever reasons
they leave a trail of links. The domain itself may be NXDOMAIN but the
links still exists. As I think Chuck Gomes said at ICANN Rome their
servers get an overwhelming number of hits for domains that are NXDOMAIN.

This is understandable as many links within the web point to NXDOMAINS.
Its not domain specualtion which is causing all the unwanted traffic -
it's dead links. SiteFinder was an attempt to address this - when it
failed they tried to anycast the .com/.net zones. SiteFinder fixed the
traffic problem by giving a NOERROR on all request - but the anycast
solution has only proven to be a costly headache for Netsol.

So in some small way 100 year domains will stabalize things - but not by
much. Now if they offered 100 years at a reasonable price - then I would
even consider buying a few more .com domains.
