No, that's the opposite of what RP said.  He said encryption is an unnecessary 
complexity and the only thing that matters is physical security.  Which is of 
course, unrealistic for many reasons, but it's not worth going into any deeper 
after mentioning physically insecure media transport.  There's no such thing as 
physical security for offline offsite backup archives.
