If you refer to the source code, maybe this helps:
http://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/artwork/

Here you can find the branches that affected e.g. the document icons.
Clicking on the branches gives you some information where to find the
image files ... and you may download them directly.

Cool idea :-)

Well, the icons have been changed. The gulls are gone, so to say. Here
is the initial announcement to use different icons:

This change replaced the Galaxy style MIME icons in the recent
OpenOffice.org versions:

LibreOffice is OpenOffice.org :-) It is just a different name (please
have a look at the FAQ section of The Document Foundation why it is
currently called LibreOffice).

But you are right, we use the Galaxy style MIME icons, since they are
better in terms of usability. Many people requested to have color-coded
icons to better distinguish the document types. And since we currently
lack own MIME icons, these icons have been proven to be well accepted
and highly usable. But of course, there is a need for own icons, if we
continue with LibreOffice.

So thanks for your proposal and your effort :-) And to ask some
questio:are you interested in Artwork (in general)?

Cheers,
Christoph
