AG, I've just confirmed: Gianluca's method causes the cursor to do what you want, in OOo but not in LibO. A bug? or a deliberate change in what is affected by that setting? I don't know. And you are right -- nowhere I can find does anything to say that the cursor's saved position is going to be saved (or not) based on that box being ticked and your name and initials being in the User Data dialog, nor do I have any idea why these things should be connected.
