Long-term it does help, in terms of making very clear to the original poster that the priority is superior performance of LO.
True, but I expect someone choosing for GNU (the OP) to be well aware of that.
There is no negative attitude towards m$ except your own perception.
Writing 'm$' is recognised as such.
The position is clear, help LO odt, not m$.
Well, of course that is what is best, but will not always help with problems instantly.
