Hi Everyone,
I think incoming 3.4.4 is (may be) the best release ever (than 3.3.x too).
But (there is a "but") because is the last release until February 2012
as we could see here
http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/ReleasePlan
and more likely because we have decided no to release more 3.3 new
versions, I think we could seriously evaluate to step another RC with
some other cherry picked good fixed master issues (I mean those related
to Quality and appearance).
I'm thinking about the one related to object alignment in Calc
(https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=37083), but also the
annoying just caught related to Base opening and immediately closing
table view (https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=42612), that
seems to be a regression, and few other ones that I don't follow, but
may be useful for all/many users...
3.4.4:
- carry us on 3.5.0 that is released before 3.4.5 one;
- take many 3.3.x users "a step forward" because 3.3.x end of life.
It's important that its quality is a step over the previous ones. We
have already integrate in 3.4.4-RC2 about 30 fix, if we add some other
ones it's not a bad thing in particular with respect to Quality.
We cannot lose the 3.3.x installed user base: they have to be happy (and
not otherwise) to stay with us all together, haven't they?
What do we think about?
Have a nice week,
Carlo
