I understand now.  The on-the-fly syncing player would let you pay
mechanical licensing fees, imposed by the government on content
owners, rather than needing to negotiate a synch rights deals the
content owners.

I will write more about this later.  Just thought I'd let you know
that you've cleared up the confusion.
