The best part is that Academia.edu "checked" our "department directory" and confrimed that [email protected] is an academic/graduate student. Seems quite silly to say such a thing when you are in fact not doing that thing.
Also, I'm still curious how Academia.edu has a .edu domain since the registrar for .edu is only administered by EDUCAUSE and theirs rules state that only accredited post-secondary schools can get one. Though, apparently there was a time when that rule was a bit more lax, but they say the toughened up in 2001]0]. That means that this domain was registered before Oct 21st, 2001? *checks* Wow, yeah, May 10th, 1999. Too bad the Way Back Machine only has pages for that domain from 2007/2008[1]. I'd be really curious what this domain hosted in 1999.
