I`ve just launched a fundraising campaign to gather $500 this week to cover my expenses and join the LibreBus: http://igg.me/p/227745?a=1236405
My intention is to use the experience of the LibreBus here to put something similar together in the US -- a bus of free/libre culture advocates connecting the geographical dots to share stories, ideas, techniques, philosophy, politics, and more via workshops, hackathons, interviews, and more. To me, part of the uniqueness of the LibreBus that draws me to participate is the inclusion of biodiversity and gender as transversal themes woven into the conversations about free culture. In the US, I´d like to mix in environmental justice as well, connecting the dots between how computers are related to both contamination and systemic oppression, and how we can use computers to clean up our landscapes and heal our cultures. If any of this sounds interesting, I invite you to visit the Get Patrick on the LibreBus page, to share ideas even if you don´t intend to donate money: http://igg.me/p/227745?a=1236405 cheers, Patrick PS: I´m not sure who´s on this list who I know -- if you´re out there and you know me, please chime in! _______________________________________________ Discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.freeculture.org/mailman/listinfo/discuss FAQ: http://wiki.freeculture.org/Fc-discuss
