Yes, I would need to do exactly that. I am working now on adding up all the checked boxes using parseFloat to convert them. Is that the best way? They are strings, I guess.

Not sure I follow. Are you looking to convert ... var x = 179.95 to var x = [1, 7, 9, 9, 5] ? Then feed that to your number presentation widget, which is plugin worthy, by the way.
