That's talking about the window.location object. I was talking about the DOM
element for <a>'s (HTMLAnchorElement). There appears to be no official
standard that defines a hash property on this element[1] (although IE, FF,
Opera, and probably Safari as well, add all of window.location's properties
to it, which is very useful IMO).
