Hi,

I've written up a document [1] which describes how to measure power
consumption on linux based systems with open source tools. It also refers
to the EnergyStar standard/specification in a slimmed way to get some real
live reference. It's meant to be a guide for both high skilled and not
that skilled people to get a step by step manual of how one can reasonably
measure their power consumption in an easy way. It's short before ready to
be release.

Would this be something that makes sense to be published on the
lesswatts.org website? I'm just asking before putting it to the openSUSE
wiki in case this might be better placed on a central power management
only related location.

The whole "mini project" includes:

- The basic document [1]
- Another pdf with a result sheet template for either printing or editing
(for editing online one needs to use the acrobat reader)
- A plain text file template for results
- A script to calculate arithmetic means produced by QtDMM

Any feedback welcome,
    Holger
