Dear all, Thanks to all of the hard work from the community, a major revamp to the Genomics curriculum is being officially published on 18 June. There is a huge interest in teaching this workshop - with over 150 Instructors who’ve said they’re eager to teach these lessons in the next six months.
So far, most of our communication about new curricula (including this one) has been directed to people who are already members of The Carpentries community. As the community develops new lessons, we want to make sure that the benefits of these resources reach beyond those already affiliated with The Carpentries. We need to more effectively get the word out about our lessons, to reach new learners, and to provide teaching opportunities for those 150+ excited Instructors. Will you help us spread the word? You can: - Post our promotional flyer about this workshop on your department message board, circulate it on your department mailing list, or send it out to other genomics or bioinformatics mailing lists you’re a member of. - Promotional flyer - A4 size, British English <https://zenodo.org/record/3237821/files/Genomics-flyer-A4.pdf?download=1> - Promotional flyer - Letter size, USA English <https://zenodo.org/record/3237821/files/Genomics-flyer-USA-8p5x11.pdf?download=1> - Tweet about the workshop using one of our suggested messages (or your own statement of enthusiasm!): - Wish your team could level-up their computational skills for working with sequencing data? @datacarpentry provides training to get your team from messy spreadsheets to writing custom Bash scripts and computing in the cloud. @datacarpentry trains instructors who deliver tried-and-tested lessons to help you analyse your data now!
