Both of these drivers are really only for legacy PCMCIA and neither of them support DMA operation. So they are REALLY slow. It is probably time to remove them. (pcwl can in theory support miniPCI cards but the hardware has terrible errata and we lack the necessary workarounds which would hurt performance even more in a substantial way. Without the workaround the card is prone to hard lockups which can only be cleared by a power cycle.)
