I'm not sure how well it would do on mpeg2 data, I guess I could leave it on for a while and see what the compress ratio is and go from there.
Oracle added 1 MB blocks in zpool r32. Maybe there's something else, but I haven't heard of it.
Maybe I'm thinking of a discussion I saw from the FreeBSD or Linux forks rather than an actual implementation…
