I'm assuming SchilliX is no longer an illumos downstream, based on other comments you'd previously made, and the information posted on www.schillix.org.
To be perfectly clear: I don't think illumos should alter its plans to accommodate SchilliX, if for no other reason than the repeated hostility towards illumos that the SchilliX project has displayed in the past. I also seem to recall that you have your own version of the SVR4 tools with local modifications, so I think you're unlikely to be impacted by any removal of wanboot from illumos proper.
