Like you said, there's nothing tricky about it. I have no control over the choice of dhcp server in this case. What I do have control over is a staging vlan where I do solaris 10 jumpstart installs and rhel pxe/kickstart installs, for which I use isc running on solaris 10. Goodbye, solaris dhcp.
