I use SunOS 4 binary support daily. On Solaris 10 as a rule, but I just checked and (modulo some termcap issues) things work just fine under illumos. Ripping a bit out here, a bit out there - that is death by a thousand cuts, each removal potentially cutting down the number of users who might be interested in illumos. It would be different if having to carry this stuff around was blocking additions or improvements, so that removal enables greater benefit elsewhere. I don't see any evidence that's the case here - there are clearly other examples where cleaning out the junk gives us benefits down the line. But each case is different, and needs to be judged on its own merits. -- -Peter Tribble http://www.petertribble.co.uk/ - http://ptribble.blogspot.com/ ------------------------------------------- illumos-discuss Archives: https://www.listbox.com/member/archive/182180/=now RSS Feed: https://www.listbox.com/member/archive/rss/182180/21175430-2e6923be Modify Your Subscription: https://www.listbox.com/member/?member_id=21175430&id_secret=21175430-6a77cda4 Powered by Listbox: http://www.listbox.com
