Note that I believe it may be illegal to remove or alter that copyright message. Some distributions have done so anyway, but I strongly caution you to get expert legal advice before doing so — from my layman’s reading of the CDDL I think you’d be in violation of the CDDL terms.
(There is nothing however stating you cannot add additional information.) I’ve contemplated rewriting logsubr.c from scratch just to remove that annoying copyright banner, btw. A full rewrite *should* allow its removal. - Garrett > On Nov 18, 2014, at 9:13 AM, Dan McDonald via illumos-discuss > <[email protected]> wrote: > > >> On Nov 18, 2014, at 11:34 AM, Gabriele Bulfon via illumos-discuss >> <[email protected]> wrote: >> >> Hi, >> >> while it was easy to find where to customize the boot message of the kernel >> on XStreamOS, I was surprised to see that >> creating and running a zone will still show the standard "Oracle" copyright. >> I can't find where this message is in the illumos kernel sources. >> Any clue? > > In "logsubr.c", at the end of the routine log_init(). > > > http://src.illumos.org/source/xref/illumos-gate/usr/src/uts/common/os/logsubr.c#247 > > Dan > > > > ------------------------------------------- > illumos-discuss > Archives: https://www.listbox.com/member/archive/182180/=now > RSS Feed: https://www.listbox.com/member/archive/rss/182180/22003744-9012f59c > Modify Your Subscription: https://www.listbox.com/member/?& > Powered by Listbox: http://www.listbox.com ------------------------------------------- illumos-discuss Archives: https://www.listbox.com/member/archive/182180/=now RSS Feed: https://www.listbox.com/member/archive/rss/182180/21175430-2e6923be Modify Your Subscription: https://www.listbox.com/member/?member_id=21175430&id_secret=21175430-6a77cda4 Powered by Listbox: http://www.listbox.com
