Looking for advice from an SMF guru...
I'm adding a dependency to postgresql to pools in order to
to avoid the race condition (when pools is enabled) to pick
up its project's pool processor set definition at startup.
Prior it would come up in the default processor set ('-').
I'm trying out:
> + <dependency name='pools' grouping='optional_all' restart_on='refresh'
> type='service'>
> + <service_fmri value='svc:/system/pools:default' />
> + </dependency>
Outside of a dunk in the code, which I've not the time for unfortunately, I'm
thinking 'refresh'
is appropriate. Is there any reason *not* to use 'refresh' over 'restart' (or
'error')?
This seems to do the trick for now okay.
BTW, I notice (on omnios) that if I log in on the console 'too quickly' after
reboot, my user session
will also come up in the default processor set and not in the pools defined
one.
Is there perhaps a similarly missing dependency?
BTW2, I have poold running (dynamic pools)... perhaps this is why the race
condition has
exhibited itself (that is, taking a bit longer to start up)?
thanks in advance for any pointers.
