Doesn't work :( img file is not considered by zpool import -d :( I already worked with lofiadm files to have a zpool on a file for testing, but also lofiadm -a file.img and zpool import -d /dev/lofi doesn't work... I think I'll have to run a box against the vdi files and zfs transfer the pools on the host... You should be able to just go zpool import -d /directory and it will look at all the files in that directory. If it actually finds anything then it will tell you what it found, and you can add the pool name to the command to do the import (you may have to give a new pool name as well to import it under a different name if the name conflicts with an existing pool). If this is an rpool, then it will have an SMI label and you need to get inside the partitions. I'm not sure what to do in that case if it doesn't recognise it. But if you convert the vdi file to a raw disk image VBoxManage internalcommands converttoraw file.vdi output.img then you should be able to. ZFS might be able to read the file directly (maybe if it's EFI labelled), or you might have to go via lofi again if there are partitions.
