Possible - yes, but quite fragile and maybe limited to specific binary builds of original windows drivers, and generally non-redistributable due to proprietary licensing of those drivers. The routines implemented by the OI or BSD or Linux wrapper are all the resulting driver would provide. For example, that BCM driver can only work in WEP WiFi, and there's less and less of those.
