I saw this at a professional society convention in October: http://www.microway.com/product/quiet-quad-whisperstation/
I bought a couple of Dec Alpha systems from them back in 1999. Excellent support. They have clusters also, but at 64 cores and 1 TB of DRAM it's a cluster in a single box. I won't go deep into the reason why.But then I was thinking that instead of upgrading a single machine to an SBB with shared pools and clustering, I may think to have a second identical machine but without data disk, and find a way to make the other controllershare the disks to both machines someway (FC? custom connections?): is there any controller out there (supported by illumos) that I may trust to do somethink like this?
