Agreed. VirtualBox seems ok for a desktop oriented system, but for serious work on a dedicated virtualization server, Xen is our hypervisor of choice. We got into OpenSolaris for Xen on ZFS with tight integration between the Xen related tools and the OS. 20 minutes to a working recent Xen on OpenSolaris, versus several hours (if you're lucky) to a working recent Xen on CentOS. We were disappointed to see continued work on Xen dom0 support officially killed off for Solaris, so now we're back to Xen on CentOS (aka Oracle VM), but now we're looking to Solaris and ZFS for the storage backend over the network. As much as I'd like to see Xen dom0 support work with IllumOS, I only want that if it doesn't take away resources from the ZFS and networking related work.
