Unless we have a way to handle either-or pre-requisites in our packaging... they should not be removed.
SVR4 packages may not load if the proper pre-requisites are not retained. This being said, we need a methodology and/or registry to manage these things with... where new IPS and existing SVR4 packages can both referenced the common registry by package installation systems. Breaking old software removes from the value in Illumos based distributions.
