Martin,
I hope you don't take any of the emails as negativism. I for one am very happy
that you are working on a SPARC distro. I wish we had an OI SPARC build as
well.
When you have a distro that runs on SPARC, and runs illumos-gate (or can run
it), and can build illumos-gate, then this will be a major accomplishment.
Having X on SPARC would be a nice touch, and help a number of users out, but
right now it *seems* that the state for those of us that don't have your bits
is that there is a rather clumsy and painful "upgrade" process to upgrade from
an older build of OpenSolaris to something running the current illumos-gate
bits. (Painful enough that I know only of a very small number of people who
have actually done it.)
Anything you can do to make this process less painful will be gratefully
appreciated.
