No Stuttering. But the sample is short. If I start an mp3 of any kind, with the system doing nothing, it takes 20-30 seconds to start stuttering. Any other test I can take? Maybe I should try converting an mp3 to something playable by audioplay. Manpage of audioplay is poor, don't say what formats are supported ;) I bet au is supported! I'd like to know if it suffers the same problem. The drivers use the system clock for timing isochronous i/o. There may be a tunable we can set as well to give deeper buffering. This will make it less sensitive to losing CPU. Also what else is going on in the system? Is the app losing CPU do to being scheduled away?
