Although the creation of the zpool worked on OmniOS r151006y, the zfs send I wanted to test on the pool failed with a kernel panic on r151006y also.

zfs create test/testds
dd if=/dev/zero of=/test/testds/file1 bs=1M count=50
dd if=/dev/zero of=/test/testds/file2 bs=1M count=50

zfs snapshot test/testds@test
zfs send -R test/testds@test | pv > /dev/null

Hi,

when using a device provided by iSCSI COMSTAR target on the same host for a zpool, the system (OmniOS r151008j) raised a kernel panic after a timeout of the COMSTAR device at the first try, on the second attempt it just did not work.

On OmniOS r151006y the same worked without any problems.

Are there any possible known changes on COMSTAR and ZFS regarding
this problem in between the two stable OmniOS versions ?

Details, why to do that anyway :-) and a crash dump are available at https://www.illumos.org/issues/4589

Thx a lot,
Franz
