Hi, the thread says a fast reboot was necessary. Is it really?

Thanks,
Gabriele

    I would disable oplocks
    /*svccfg -s network/smb/server setprop smbd/oplock_enable=false

*/https://serverfault.com/questions/799295/omnios-zfs-windows-7-save-as-from-within-applications-lags-5-seconds-for-all?rq=1

        Hi,

        I recently substituted an old XStream server with an illumos
        2012, with a brand new install with illumos 2017.
        The old server served office files for all these years, with
        no issues.
        After "un-joining" the old storage from the AD, and joining
        the new one (same ip, same dns name, same zfs data
        transferred), everything appeared fine.
        Copy of files between network and local drives is fast,
        opening files different from Office 2010 is fast.
        Only excel and doc files, when double clicked, show the office
        logo saying "downloading ...(10%)" for 5-10 seconds and then
        open. Same issue saving.

        Browsing around, I found many possible issues, but none
        solved, and they were all not server based, but tricks on the
        PCs : they are the same as before, and they ran correctly before.

        Some talks about smb2, as a possible slow down, asking to
        disable smb2 on the clients... (???).
        I know smb2/3 has been developed recently, so I'm here to
        check for any possible known problem.

        Any idea?

        Gabriele
