Looks like this is not working : sharectl set -p netbios_enable=true smb I always have to accesso the machine via direct Ip or dns name. Any way to let it appear inside network browsing of PCs? ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sonicle S.r.l. http://www.sonicle.com Music: http://www.gabrielebulfon.com Quantum Mechanics : http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/gabrielebulfon ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Da: Yuri Pankov A: [email protected] Data: 4 maggio 2016 19.24.22 CEST Oggetto: Re: [discuss] smbshare and network browsing in workgroup mode On Tue, 3 May 2016 17:27:39 +0200 (CEST), Gabriele Bulfon wrote: Hi, I have one home storage based on XStreamOS sharing some data via CIFS on the windows network in workgroup mode. Every other device shows itself on network browsing, but not the illumos storage: I always have to reach it via IP. I don't have a windows server on the network, but the few computers/devices on the LAN/Wifi can be seen on the network and show their netbios name. I know that when inside a domain, and joined the AD, the name can be used all over the network (because it's reigstered as another dc in the AD). How can I let it show even in my home environment? Check the netbios_enable property, and set it to 'true' if it isn't: $ sharectl get -p netbios_enable smb netbios_enable=true ------------------------------------------- illumos-discuss Archives: https://www.listbox.com/member/archive/182180/=now RSS Feed: https://www.listbox.com/member/archive/rss/182180/21175541-02f10c6f Modify Your Subscription: https://www.listbox.com/member/?member_id=21175541&id;secret=21175541-29e3e0ee Powered by Listbox: http://www.listbox.com
