Hi,

I needed to change the structure of the zil, because I added a separate couple
of SSDs for it, but found some misleading docs about this and strange
behaviours while working on it.

The pool was:

data ONLINE 0 0 0
raidz1-0 ONLINE 0 0 0
c7t50000C0F01F23F06d0 ONLINE 0 0 0
c7t5000039478C9927Ed0 ONLINE 0 0 0
c7t5000039478C99616d0 ONLINE 0 0 0
c7t5000039478C99752d0 ONLINE 0 0 0
c7t5000039478CA3AFEd0 ONLINE 0 0 0
c7t5000039478CA938Ad0 ONLINE 0 0 0
logs
mirror-1 ONLINE 0 0 0
c6t55CD2E404B41A537d0s3 ONLINE 0 0 0
c6t55CD2E404B41A291d0s3 ONLINE 0 0 0
cache
c6t55CD2E404B41A291d0s4 ONLINE 0 0 0
c6t55CD2E404B41A537d0s4 ONLINE 0 0 0

At first, I tried "detach" of first mirror-1 device, and I got the second
device become the root of the zil, but "detach" of it gave errors. So I
reattached the first one to get back to my mirror-1 device.
Before going on, I added the second mirror zil, having mirror-1 and mirror-2
with their respective devices: this unexpectedly triggered a full resilvering,
slowing down the pool for a couple of hours (luckily it was Saturday...why
this??).
Then I preferred to wait for resilver to end.
Than I found I could do "remove mirror-1" to remove the entire zil branch:
command got back to the prompt silently, but nothing happened, mirror-1 is
still there.

Now, I wouldn't want to do something to break the pool consistency on zil data
while working.
Looking again around I probably found that the correct way to get rid of
log/mirror-1 now is:
- detach one device from it to get the device of one new log root, parallel to
mirror-2
- remove the second device (now new root)

Is this correct? Will the mirror-2 get any residual data from mirror-1 or
mirror-1 synced to real disks before removal?

Thanks for your help
