Hello Illumos/OpenIndiana world, I have received a new Lenovo Thinkpad E16 company laptop and am trying to find out whether it might run OpenIndiana even natively (i.e. on bare metal)...
The machine specs: * CPU: Ryzen 7 7730U * Graphics: Vega 8 * Display: 16" 1920x1200 (but anything from 1024x768 would be fine in X11 vesa mode) The E16 boots up fine on bare metal to the text console, but I was hoping to get at least X11 in vesa mode - is this possible? AFAICT, the issue trying to start X11 vesa is here: VESA(8): initializing int10 VESA(8): V_BIOS address 0x0 out of range UnloadModule: "vesa" (II) Unloading vbe (EE) Screen(s) found, but none have a usable configuration. I am already switching vesa explicitly on through the boot menu, and have fiddled with the ACPI settings (Default, On and Legacy do boot up fine but only to the text console, MADT and Off cause an almost immediate reboot...). Anybody able to help with this? thx a million in advance! :-) Best regards Andreas ------------------------------------------ illumos: illumos-discuss Permalink: https://illumos.topicbox.com/groups/discuss/Tddb07e1a2c5c8da3-M4c43a7fb273586b1521dd3ba Delivery options: https://illumos.topicbox.com/groups/discuss/subscription
