Technical Manager

 

Position Overview

Technical Managers are responsible for day-to-day management and
execution of client engagements that involve strategic technology
development efforts.  Managers work closely with Engagement Directors
throughout a project providing project oversight and client management.
Managers are responsible for client satisfaction, project delivery,
project margin, scope management, status reporting, accounts receivable,
and team development.  Managers work closely with Engagement Directors
in identifying and securing new opportunities within an existing account
relationship.  Managers are expected to think strategically and
participate in formulating strategic roadmaps and technology maturity
models for clients.

 

Required Experience:

*   Experience managing projects that include complex technology design,
development and integration efforts

*   Experience managing teams of technologists while interfacing with
senior client stakeholders that have a deep appreciation of
sophisticated technologies and delivery methodologies

*   Experience extracting and prioritizing business requirements to
assist with introducing strategic technology design recommendations and
planning for clients

*   Experience with the Software Development Life Cycle and Agile
methodologies and have proven experience guiding and motivating project
teams

*   Experience with project team mentorship and issue resolution skills
to ensure on-time delivery, customer satisfaction, team satisfaction and
quality assurance.  

*   Effective written and verbal communication skills to manage projects
and project teams, and assist with status reporting, proposal
development efforts and project deliverables 

*   Experience scoping, planning and applying the necessary staff to
projects

*   Experience managing accounts receivables and project margin through
effective change management practices

*   Experience managing fixed price and time & material engagements is
required

 

Other Requirements

Technical managers must have a Bachelor's degree (Engineering, IT,
Computer Science) plus seven (7) years of experience in software
development consulting, at least (5) five years of design and
implementation experience of portals, Content Management Systems (CMS)
and CMS integration with portals using J2EE and XML. Experience must
include requirements gathering, functional design, technical design,
content migration, and development. CMS and J2EE portal experience is
required.
