Oliver - what platform are you on? Dia is an alternative, but not one I'm terribly crazy about. http://www.gnome.org/projects/dia/ and runs on unix, osx, and windows.There's also Denim, which is an interesting take on wireframing and prototyping. http://dub.washington.edu:2007/denim/.
