Zillow.com seeks a usability specialist to drive our UX research efforts. This is a 3 month contract position with an optional extension or full-time offer at term's end. You will be responsible for planning and implementing user research using diverse methods, including usability testing, cognitive walkthroughs, and contextual inquiry. You will work closely with designers and product teams to foster a great user experience and provide impactful data. You'll need to understand new areas of user needs and behavior, looking for new opportunities for products and services as well as testing and improving the usability of products already in development. You'll need to define and track usability success as well as answer challenging research questions and translate those findings into practical recommendations for product teams. Most importantly, you'll need to be a passionate advocate for our users throughout the development process.

Additional qualifications: * At least 1-3 years of experience conducting user research. * Experience with a broad range of research methodology including explorative, generative and evaluative methods. * Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary product teams to drive application of results into products. * Experience generating research plans, defining and tracking user experience metrics, and working on multiple simultaneous projects.
