I'm not really seeing the problem here. There are a couple of things you
can do, which are not too difficult from a programming standpoint.
 
First, get the user to define their preferred "local" currency as part
of their registration profile.
Second, have the site reflect the price in both the original and the
user's local currency.
Third, display only user's local currency on the checkout page.
 
Amazon.co.uk does pretty much the same thing when I (a resident of
Denmark = DKK) order books listed in GBP.
