This very same thing has come up on another list I'm on. Here are some thoughts about it:

Amounts vary by country.

Cash is best, but could be $25 USD in India for the same work and amount of time as someone would get $100 for in the US or 75 pounds for in the UK.

Someone suggested using https://www.obopay.com . I haven't done this, myself.
