Nearly all of what I've heard and experienced about all of these kinds of things is that you end up with people who aren't designers (engineers, product managers, etc.) and because of the audience do a lot of basic stuff and then a good chunk of group exercises that aren't all that useful if you're already a practicing designer.
If I were you I'd explicitly ask what kind of people will be attending.
