Doug just clued me in that I missed some of this thread...we do have a "real" 
SSL cert that some of you (almost 20%, thank you all that voted) saw because it 
was already active on election.lopsa.org.  We'll activate it for the rest of 
the sub-domain in very short order as we do some hardware shuffling, but the 
details are in the hands of others for when that will be.
