Jonathan,

We ended up with a vendor named Gladinet and are very, very happy. We reviewed about 10 different vendors and they were the only one that was just focused on file sharing and very responsive to our needs (90% of our end users are Macs). Since the purchase I have even been more happy as they have created a special build for us of their clients that include error messages specific to our environment and settings for our environment. Highly recommended.

cheers,

Hi Ski,

We have a similar project coming up (using a VNX), and we've identified
Ajaxplorer <http://ajaxplorer.info/> as a possible candidate. However
the project is on hold, until we finish rebuilding our data centre, so
in the meantime if you do look at it, I'd love to hear your experiences.

Jonathan.

Hi,

I am wondering what other folks use for web based access to files on
an internal CIFS server (we have an EMC VNX). We looked at several
options and found a really nice option, but the price is very high. I
am looking for something that will allow staff and students to access
their files on the server from home. The system needs to respect the
existing permissions on the file server. Thanks for your ideas.

cheers,

ski
