Summary: Looking for a reference for Pythian (www.pythian.com), has anybody used their services, and how did that go for you?
Details: I met the founder (Paul V.) at LISA and was impressed with his fast pace and energy level and personal intensity. =) Pythian has been around 17 years, I wouldn't be surprised we have some staff members on the list. It started out as a DBA (managed services) company but has branched out into system administration and project management as well. Their model is a team of 5-8 sysadmins distributed world-wide in a follow-the-sun model provides you with 24 x 7 support. It sounds pretty good. My financial analysis shows it's more cost-effective for us to contract for X hours from Pythian than to hire 2 more sysadmins; we'd get more bang for the back. I just wanted to check if you have had any experience as a customer of Pythian and how did that go for you? (Just doing due diligence.) Thanks, Aleksey
