For me, it's always been, "This command is taking really long to run..."
The worst thing I've ever done was to try to remove hidden files with "rm -rf .*" - .* will happily match .. as well. That was kind of a bad day. But since I was new there, I got to learn about the backup/restore process. So yay! Hopefully with Joyent's cloud environment, the nodes were built for "the cloud" with the mentality that any individual node is transient and that an infrastructure could fail and reboot without problems. I can definitely think of some problems with clustered solutions where it would be...inconvenient...to lose all nodes in the cluster, though. Yikes. --Matt On Thu, May 29, 2014 at 9:52 AM, Michael Tiernan <[email protected]> wrote: > Okay, how many of us hit the return key while hearing a little voice go > "NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!" :) > > http://www.theregister.co.uk/2014/05/28/joyent_cloud_down/ > > To quote a friend's sig "Oh god, please, not another learning experience!" > > -- > << MCT >> Michael C Tiernan. http://www.linkedin.com/in/mtiernan > Non Impediti Ratione Cogatationis > Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs > should relax and get used to the idea. -Robert A.
