but also add ons such as PHP, Apache, Tomcat, and such.  More than
just installing the latest mainline RPMs, in other words. The same for
major Mac and Linux applications, not mainline RPMs.

We looked at Tanium at $WORK probably about 2 years ago and we passed on it; I can't remember why. We currently use Red Hat Satellite, because well, we're big and can throw money at RH for things like that. It covers anything that's in RH's repos for patching. I'm not that close to patch management anymore, so I don't have any details further than that.
