Hi Angelos, thank you for your reply regarding the java applications. As we are mainly using geoserver we are affected by this problem. Thus I've canceled the whole plan of upgrading and did a new and clean re-install on scientific linux 6 due to its longer (as ubuntu) support time. So we also only deployed the modules and packages of OSGeo which we really want and need.
