Hello Nicolas,
in Potsdam, Germany the GIS Day events of the last three years have featured presentations about work done both with propietary and open source-based GIS. Such "peaceful coexistence" allows to reach out and talk shop with people using the "other" kind of GIS.
To introduce OSGeo both as a organisation an a lifestyle, something like the nice presentations of Jody Garnet might be used:

It would be great if all OSGeo-related GIS Day presentations could eventually be pooled and permanently provided via a central access point. In the meantime, one viable way for reference and long term presevation could be archiving as grey literature via a research- or university library.
