Dear all,
We waited more that we initially announced to allow people to confirm
the nomination. We are still missing two confirmation but will proceed
with the next step, nomination seconding via electronic voting system.
We have a week of delay but I think this is not a problem. We will
update the wiki pages to reflect the new calendar.

Just a quick recap of the 2018 Elections:
- Vicky Vergara and Jorge Gustavo Rocha volunteer to help the CRO. Thanks!
- We got 36 valid nominations. We are still expecting some confirmations
from the nominees. For this reasons we are extending the first stage of
the charter members elections with 48 hours. However, no new nominations
will be accepted. Only confirmations of nomination acceptance from the
nominees.
- The electronic voting system is ready for charter members to second
the nominations, preventing the last year stress of seconding via the
discuss mailing list. Nominal vote invitations will be sent to all our
charter members on 10 of October. Thanks to SAC for setting up the
electronic voting system and to Vicky for her magic scripts.

This year OSGeo elections [1] will start on Monday (September 24) with
the nomination period for new Charter Members. The nomination period
will be open for the next two weeks. Candidate review will follow.
This year, the review will be done through our electronic voting
system and *not* via email, as we got so many complains last year
because of the amount of traffic on discuss mailing list. You can read
about the changes on the amended Membership Process wiki page [2].
As I'm not standing for board reelection, I volunteer to do the CRO
[3] role one more time. OSGeo board approved this during the Dar es
Salaam face to face meeting [4]. Any volunteers that are willing to do
this job next year are welcome to contact me, work together for this
elections, to make the 2019 transition smooth.
