Confirmed speakers include editors and contributors to the book John H McKendrick (co-Director of the Scottish Poverty and Inequality Research Unit), Angela O’Hagan (Deputy Director of the WISE Centre for Economic Justice), Jamie Livingstone (Head of Oxfam Scotland), Lucy Mulvagh (the ALLIANCE), Kay Sillars(UNISON), Laura Robertson (Poverty Alliance) as well as Linda Craik of End Poverty Edinburgh. Confirmed political panel members include Neil Gray MP, Pauline McNeill MSP, Alison Johnston MSP and Carole Ford. Satwat Rehman (CEO, OPFS) will provide concluding observations. With Scotland having set statutory targets towards ending child poverty by 2030, and wider commitments made to eradicate poverty and hunger altogether, this event will be an opportunity to hear about and discuss this state of the nation assessment of how far the country has come in achieving anti-poverty goals, and what is now needed to make them a reality.
