We're going to have to re-jigger the floor plan a little, because it IS still big and there's a lot we can do with it.

Has anyone talked about office space for members? Ron said he'd be willing to pay for a little space somewhere where he can work. I was thinking we could design little 5'x4' cubicles or something, for $100/month, which we could also give to members who need additional storage space.

Justin, can you upload the floor-plan you got? We can take a look at what works where.

We're a not-for-profit and I wouldn't call this reselling. These
aren't commercial servers - they're members' servers and the cost is
going to help offset power. These are the same servers we're hosting
right now, for the most part. You seem to be thinking in terms of some
kind of official reseller plan - I'm thinking member-based machines
that are already operating.

Do we require walls for a server room? Can we not stand up two racks
against the wall in a low-traffic area? Do we not already have UPSes
that you have been testing out?

Considering extra expenses, that's more like $400-500 per month away
from breaking even. I don't like the financials of this move, we
should try to always assume worst-case.

Also I'm not sure about charging for server space - we have no SLAs,
no walls for our server room there, heck you didn't even put a server
room on the plans. Also paid server space should have redundant
internet and more UPSes, neither of which we have, and I'm not sure
VOI will be happy about us reselling our free service for money - they
seemed to indicate it was no-SLA/hobbyist/not for profit before.

Mark,

$80 pledge - 1 member
$60 pledge - 14 members
$50 pledge - 6 members
$40 pledge - 2 members

Total: $1300 from 22 members
1 member was undecided
19 members still need to be contacted.

1 member is willing to relocate his servers to our space and pay $100/mo.

Other considerations from the meeting:
Server space: $10/mo.
Classroom rental: $50/event
Power estimate: $300/mo.

Assume our rent is $2100/mo., add power = $2400/mo.
Assume remaining 19 members only pay $40/mo. = $760/mo.

$1300 + $760 + $100 + $30 (estimate 3 servers being hosted) = $2190/mo.

Therefore, we are actually $210 away from breaking even. ***However,
this doesn't include the cost of insurance, which I believe Courtney
will look into to see if the price would be changing.***

Now don't forget that we have ~$8000 in our bank. This can serve as
the source of our discretionary spending month-to-month. I would put a
limit of $400/mo. or something similar from these funds.

I'm confident that we can talk to the remaining 19 members and ask if
they are willing to pay more than $40/mo. to help us out with this.
