In case anyone reading has illusions about it, there's no way time-wise we'll be able to obtain an occupancy permit from the city and complete the entire MLCC process before new years eve. But, all nice to take care of for the sake of the future, so +1 to folks who work on that.

After we apply, the city will send an inspector(s) before they issue the occupancy permit. I think things like the extension cord running along the ceiling will be noticed.

As will the fact that we "occupied" prior to actually having the permit to occupy -- but word is this is overlooked when its not a hyper-public kind of space like a restaurant. An occupied unit that has come more or less into compliance to obtain a permit is probably seen as better than an occupied unit they'll never know about without a permit that may or may not be where it needs to be.

Which class of occupancy permit are we going to apply for as a best fit to the kind of space we're running? Things might be tighter if our many seat classroom means that a assembly class permit is required.

Is there anything else we should deal with prior to an inspection arising from an occupancy permit application? How's our egress looking? I wonder if our front interior door is kosher after the kludge that made it fob accessible?

Does that the little white exit button require the mains/UPS power to be effective? That also may be viewed as something hard to find or managed to feel out during a emergency with lights out and panicked hackers trying to flee the scene.
